Jamaican delegation welcomed with celebration at the Athens Olympics!

PUMA, official sponsor of the Jamaican delegation at the Athens 2004 Olympics, threw the biggest surprise party for the athletes, and ended up pleasing Greeks and Jamaicans alike. Featuring performances by major stars from the Island, such as Barrington Levy, Buju Banton and Chaka Demus & Pliers, the reception was held at a Club in Athens and attracted quite a crowd from Greece, in addition to the Jamaicans.

The event aimed to show the world Jamaican culture, its art, music and celebrate the country's participation in yet another Olympics. The Jamaicans, somewhat tired, ended up leaving the party and returning to the Olympic Village shortly after it began. However, thousands of people from Greece were able to enjoy the event that once again made clear the cheerful and festive spirit of the Jamaican people, despite all the difficulties.
