Julian Marley makes the Olympia vibrate with his new work and the king's hits! See on Surforeggae!

The tide is great for reggae. Several Brazilian states have been receiving big names in the style, such as Yellowman, Inner Circle and Gladiators, and two days before we receive The Wailers, we have one of the illustrious sons of the king: Julian Marley. Held at Olympia and scheduled to start at 10:00 p.m., the event didn’t initially show signs of a big crowd, maybe because it was a Thursday, maybe because of the cold, or the price, but those impressions disappeared when the lights went out and the curtains opened.
A killer intro ushered in the night’s star. Julian had prepared a set list full of surprises for his fans, who by then already packed the floor at Olympia. Splitting the set between his own songs and his father’s classics, "Rastaman Vibration" was one of the first. "Lion in the Morning," "Babylon Cookie Jar," and "Same Old Story," all from the 1996 album "Lion in the Morning," were accompanied note by note by the crowd.
Julian Marley doesn’t look much like Bob Marley, but he surely inherited the main thing: the voice! Another standout factor in his performance is his body language — incredibly similar to his father’s old shows.
When the band played the first chords of "Waiting in Vain," "Get up Stand Up" and "Sir it Up," all major Bob Marley hits, the uproar was inevitable. Julian’s tour promotes his latest album, "A Time & Place," and songs like "Harder Dayz" and "Build Together" were followed from start to finish. Back to the classics, "Crazy Baldheads" and "Exodus," from the albums "Rastaman Vibration" and "Exodus" respectively, were the beginning of Julian Marley’s farewell to the São Paulo crowd.
Returning the audience’s affection, Julian is an example of patience and attention, giving autographs to almost 50 people anxiously waiting in the Olympia corridors. On this night, peace and nostalgia joined hands in favor of true roots reggae.
