Another great reggae prospect is born in Rio Grande do Norte.

The influences come from various areas, but what is strongest in this crew's sound is the contagious reggae beat, without compromise and without the concern of following stereotypes. Aldeia Roots' identity is formed of soul and feeling, which emerge in their lyrics and melodies. What can be expected from the band is a sound of great quality, thanks to the musicians involved.

With a raspy and very distinctive vocal, Duda has already been through important bands on the local scene: Velho Chico and Baseados em Reggae. He, together with the DoSol Records label, is the mentor of the project. Jéfferson Soares has extensive experience in Ska, playing bass in the renowned band Base Livre and now runs the kitchen at Aldeia. Last but not least, Dinarte Filho, with his great experience in reggae, passed with his guitar through some of the most important reggae bands in the state: Velho Chico, RaggaNoia (today RaggaNoise) and Reggalyze.

Aldeia is recording its first CD for DoSol Records, the most prominent independent label in RN, and should release it as soon as possible. The first single is already ready and will be the band's first working track. It's called "Tudo Ficou Igual" and enters rotation on local radio stations this week.

The CD will feature distinguished guest appearances, among them Anderson Legal (RaggaNoise), a major figure on the potiguar reggae-ragga scene, and another big surprise. Now we just have to wait for the release!
