Check the winners of the Remelexo Brasil Forró Festival and the big news for independent forró!

The 1st Forró do Remelexo Brasil Festival was one of the biggest investments in northeastern culture in São Paulo. Numerous bands signed up, few entered and they were all excellent. Yesterday, July 5, 2005, the grand finale of this event took place, which discovered bands and opened doors for the traditional forró of São Paulo. Of the 4 finalists, only one would reach first place, but all of them had already guaranteed their participation in the CD, which will be released by the end of the year. A lot of emotion invaded the grand final, proof of this was the lead singer of the band Espalha Brasa, who tried countless times to hide her emotions and her tears. Espalha Brasa, who put on an incredible show, was the first to perform, and the band's audience was the biggest at the event. Even Discovery Channel, a pay TV channel, was doing a story about the event and the house itself, for Argentina. The second band was Os 4 messengers, which had songs known as “Forró de Magnata” in their repertoire. The third band, Ped Pexe, was one of the highlights of the night, with the vocalist's stage presence and animation. The band has a forró-mpb style, which makes the difference. Forró Bolado was the last band to take over the Remelexo stage, and its main characteristic is originality and tradition called “roots”. A classic style that featured the song “O fim do mundo” in the competing composition. After the presentations, Magno took to the stage with the classification list, and on his face, a look of joy that indicated very good news. Before announcing the 1st to 4th place positions, there was a meeting with the event organizers and the 4 finalists. The big news of the night was followed by the following speech: "Everyone knows that forró has suffered a lot of losses in recent times, yet another forró house will close, and those who don't know yet will find out soon. As our intention is to promote this movement, we decided that changes can be made to an event of this size, as long as it adds up. And it is with the authorization of the 4 finalist bands and the entire event management, that we have decided that all the bands that have participated in the festival since the beginning, will participate in the CD that will be released by the end of the year!" After the decision, the vast majority applauded and celebrated the board's decision, and soon after the winners were revealed:  1st place: Ped Pexe  2nd place: Forró Bolado  3rd place: Os 4 Mensageiros  4th place: Espalha Brasa First place will win a date at the house, so they can put on a complete show, in addition to winning a fee worth R$1,000.00. Many musicians were there: Vérinho, Praiera, Arleno Farias, Trio Sabiá, Dió, Lau, Members of Trio Virgulino and more. The party ended with a real “Arrumadão” among the musicians present. Thanks to a sincere production and a great desire to contribute to ensuring that our culture remains alive, the CD “1º Festival do Remelexo Brasil” will be released by the end of the year, with the bands: Espalha Brasa, Canela Seca, Forró Nativo, Ped Pexe, Os 4 Mensageiros, Beira d´agua, Sandaiá, Kayapó, Quarteto Boca Mole, Forró Bolado, Hamerê and Mussambê... just wait!  Check out the images from this event.
