Echo Sound System release: "Tempo Vai Dizer" is an album inspired by Sound System culture!

Formed by producers Pedro Dubstrong (DJ from Chocolate and known for his mixtapes), Gustavo Sola and multi-instrumentalist Gustavo Veiga (from Veiga & Salazar), Echo Sound System is not a reggae band, nor is it just a hip hop group; it is a production collective rooted in Jamaican branches, mixing diverse influences. Echo Sound System presents its intentions right in its name. Inspired by sound system culture and echoing different styles of Jamaican music, they use technology to promote the reunion of reggae and rap, two genres that are not at all distant. The debut album, "Tempo vai dizer" (ST2 Records), mixed by Ganjaman and Tejo (Instituto), combines several styles. It goes from the dancehall of "Vampire", through the dub in "Supamind dub", the reggae of "Pas tester", to the hip hop in "Punanny". Besides Veiga, responsible for acoustic guitar, bass, keyboards, flute and melodica, bassist Gema and saxophonist Andres Salazar also play on the album. Despite its respect for the past, "Tempo vai dizer" does not sound retro. The polished production updates the references, mixing them with one another and resulting in an original sound. In addition to the band's regular collaborators, Jamaican General Smiley also takes part in the album. Even without intending to, the mix of languages internationalized the sound, which may open a front abroad for Echo Sound System. Also worth highlighting is Funk Buia's (Z’Africa Brasil) participation in "Rookie rock", the first single from the album.
