Easy Star All-Stars debut in Brazil in May presenting "Dub Side of the Moon"!
Recently, bassist Roger Waters put an end to the story of Pink Floyd's promised comeback, claiming that it was all media rumors and that their fans should follow this less. If the legendary rock group doesn't return to the stage, a group of kids from the ghettos of New York are providing the lyrics today: "Dub Side of the Moon" has just been released in the country by the Rio label Deckdisc. Easy Star All-Stars, the band behind the album that re-reads the main album of Pink Floyd's career, comes to Brazil for the first time. In May, his tour starts in São Paulo, on the 13th, and will pass through Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Porte Alegre and Salvador. Other dates are still being negotiated. A constant figure on Billboard's Top Reggae, "Dub Side of the Moon" began to emerge from the ideas of Lem Oppenheimer, owner of the New York label Easy Star. Oppenheimer spent his youth listening to the 1973 original, thirty years before editing the reinterpretation of the precious object. It was in 1999 that the penny of transforming psychedelic tracks into dub and reggae began to drop. The "house" musicians and producers Michael G and Ticklah surrounded themselves with a responsible team, inviting bassist Victor Rice (with work with Everlast, The Slackers and New York Ska Jazz Ensemble on his resume) and drummer Patrick Dougher (Roots Combination). Raking Joe, Dr. Israel and Sluggy Ranks, among others, also collaborated on the album, whose reggae predominates – the dub that names it appears more strongly only in "The Great Gig in the Sky". Listen to the album, which has been well praised by critics, on the Easy Star label website.
