Three major events mark the first “Tributo a Peter Tosh”. Este ewind, which will be performed in Wet’n Wild (Salvador/BA) on the evening of September 2, will be the recording of the first DVD Internacional de a Tributo based in the country. And it is no accident that this happens in Bahia, since the State returned to the international circuit of style some years ago, captaining a process that many point to the resurgence of reggae music in the country, given the constant appearance of several artists of the genre in mainstream media.
Tendo Andrew Tosh (oldest son of Peter Tosh) as host of the party, the recording will still feature the presence of the band Culture, in the international team, of Serginho (vocalist of the band Adão Negro), making a duo with Andrew in the song “Hand in Hand”, composed by the Bahian especially for the occasion and some more guests that will be confirmed shortly. Still that night the very special release show of the artist who dispenses with any performances. Edson has plenty of reasons to celebrate, as he gets one more gift, in addition to the long-awaited release of his DVD: the show also marks the beginning of the career of Isac Gomes, the king's firstborn, who promises a debut equal to his surname ─ a prime reference to reggae history in Brasil.
The band Culture, a world reference of root style and active since the 1970s, will perform a complete show for the faithful followers of Jamaican style precursors. The band Mosiah also sends its successes already known to the large audience regueiro da terrinha. The band Adão Negro does a complete show, in addition to participating in the recording. Similarly, Ed Vox also brightens the party by sending their songs that are successful on the outskirts of the city of Salvador.
Este ewind that agglomerates the multiple trends of style not only in Bahia, but also in the world, consolidates an evident aspect of resistance of the Afrodescendant culture of our nation-city: the music of universal themes known as Reggae.
