Sold out for Mad Professor, his son Joe Ariwa, Pedrinho Dubstrong and other stars at Rose BomBom!

Everyone already knows that DUB is strong in São Paulo... whether from the techno ballads, increasingly embracing the more psychedelic aspect of reggae, or from the style's specific ballads. But filling a house in full "quarta-feira útil" is not for everyone, and the attraction was not "qualquer um". We are talking about the last "baladub" that took place in Pinheiros, on December 20th, with the renowned producer, Mad Professor. After a brief wait at the opening of the inner runway of Rose BomBom, home to the Pinheiros (SP) region, it seemed like people were leaving the ground. Soon the room was taken over by "Professor" fans. Neil Fraser, real name Mad Professor, was well escorted through the opening attractions. First with Pedrinho DubStrong, who sent gems like Linval Thompson, Dawn Penn and Horace Andy, and then with Joe Ariwa, son of "Professor", which is the same name as his record label, Ariwa Sounds. Ariwa sent such heavy beats, in the relentless line of Dancehall, that one of the equipment insisted on turning off. This happened several times. After the situation returned to normal, the party continued until the end with the master and the most classic riddims in history. Its unique presentation was unable to erase the indignation of some people who had to wait for hours for the main attraction, others who were working the next day couldn't even wait. At 5 am, Mad Professor was still in charge of the party. Horace Andy is being considered for the first half of 2007. Let's hope it actually comes to fruition. Thanks to another initiative from Zeroneutro (next time, more "amigáveis" times), shaking up the DUB scene in São Paulo... and of course, thanks for the class "Professor": "Mr. Evil man, what´s your evil plan?"
