“Movimento Reggae Mineiro” presents an unprecedented event, of great expression and audience, an afternoon that combines music, peace, culture and landscape. The most beautiful view of the city was the place chosen to vibrate the sound of reggae, there at Morro do Cristo, on a Sunday from afternoon until night... the “Festival do Reggae Mineiro”. The event has a special date, reggae, black liberation music, was chosen as the soundtrack to celebrate the day slavery was abolished in Brazil. “Spreading original music based on the reggae style, of authentic works that represent the Minas Gerais identity, this is the main objective of the movement that presents local bands Skuma, Comunidade Rasta, Ras Levi, Natumaré and Flor do Pasto on its stage.” The 1st Festival do Reggae Mineiro is a non-profit event with free entry and in addition to spreading this cultural manifestation, it also shows its social interest in transforming this event into an opportunity to promote charity through the collection of books and warm clothes. The event, with a defined date, time and location, will take place on May 13th at 3:00 pm in the Morro do Cristo parking lot.
