Reggae loses another old-guard artist! Farewell to the great Tyrone Taylor! Learn more.
Tyrone Taylor, Jamaican singer considered the author of one of Reggae's greatest classics - "Cottage in Negril" (1983), passed away on December 1, 2007 in Kingston, capital of Jamaica. Taylor, who was already in health problems, having suffered two heart attacks in recent years, passed away at the age of 50 from prostate cancer. The artist began his career in the 70s where he recorded several singles. However, his greatest success was achieved in 1983 with the aforementioned album “Cottage in Negril”, whose title song is still included today in compilations with the best of Reggae Jamaicano. In recent years, Tyrone has been trying to get back into the media, having recently participated in the "Rebel Salute" festival, one of the most renowned at Jamaica.  Click here and listen to "Cottage in Negril" by Tyrone Taylor.
