The Government Jamaicano is about to officially declare Reggae month. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Olivia Grange recently announced that February at Jamaica will be the month chosen to celebrate the island's greatest creation. The Ceremony will be held on February 24, 2008, at "National Indoor Sports Centre" in Kingston, capital of Jamaica.

The party will also reward Jamaican artists, in a kind of "Grammy of Reggae", which will feature, among other categories, "Most popular artist" and "Most popular song". The month of February will also feature various cultural programs, such as shows, festivals, in addition to the production of a documentary.
