Educadora FM at Pelô - 'If It's Good We Play It': "No Balanço do Reggae" live at Tereza Batista!

The Educadora FM no Pelô - Se é Bom a Gente Toca reaches its fifth edition. This time it is the program "No Balanço do Reggae" that will make its sound live and free of charge on Praça Tereza Batista, starting at 7 pm on January 30th. The square's stage will be the radio studio that will broadcast the program to anyone who wants to listen on 107.5 and watch on the internet. But the people who can appear in the square will enjoy the sound of artists such as Lazzo, Geraldo Cristal and Duda (from Diamba) who will sing to the sound of the bases made by Ministéreo Público. The party will also be marked by a Rastafari celebration that aims to break down prejudices regarding the movement and disseminate information about this culture. A greeting inspired by Nyabinghi will mark the beginning of the party. In the Rastafari conception, the Nyabinghi has a spiritual meaning and, among other meanings, represents the recovery of the African beat that reproduces the heartbeat. If the Nyabinghi wants to rescue the sound that pulses within us, the No Balanço do Reggae aims to bring together those who love the rhythm and, in addition to celebrating the meeting, mitigate erroneous concepts surrounding Rastafari culture. "This is an opportunity to demystify many misconceptions regarding the Rastafari movement", says Sidney Rocha, one of the event's collaborators. "At this meeting we will be demonstrating some of the elements that make up the Rastafari movement", he concludes. Right after the greeting it's time to dance reggae with Lazzo, Geraldo Cristal, Alumínio, Helinho (Moa Anbesa), Duda (Diamba), Edson (Kebra Nagast), Semente da Paz, Ras Popó (Red Meditation), the international attractions Arkaingelle (EUA) and Dj Kobie (Trinidad e Tobago) and the Bahian sound system Ministereo Público. The party will also be a tribute to Ricky Husbands, a Guyanese musician who lived in Salvador and passed away in October 2009, victim of a cardiac arrest. Once again, in partnership with PRODEB (Companhia de Processamento de Dados do Estado da Bahia), the Educadora FM no Pelô - Se é Bom a Gente Toca project will be transmitted via the internet in real time through the Educator's website (www.educadora.ba.gov.br), and also via Surforeggae. In its fifth edition, the Se é Bom a Gente Toca project brings programs from Educadora FM 107.5 to Praça Tereza Batista with the aim of bringing the public closer to the radio. In February it is the turn of the program Tambores da Liberdade to take its beat to the Square.
