CarnaReggae 2009, one of Brazil's largest reggae and Sound System events!

In the month of February, on the 20th, 21st and 22nd, one of the biggest reggae and sound system meetings at Brasil, CarnaReggae, takes place. The event will take place in the city of São Carlos, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, and will feature more than 20 groups of Selectas and several Mcs from various parts of the country. One of the party organizers is Fred Gomes, and he tells how the idea for CarnaReggae came about: "The idea came from the intention of bringing together friends, selectors and singers to spend the carnival holiday enjoying reggae music. As the demonstration of interest was great, we decided to transform this idea into a larger event, truly being a gathering of friends, but with all the professionalism necessary to serve the reggae culture-loving public. The opening of space for groups from any location was publicized on the blog and mainly on the website Orkut, with a very good response! Now we have around 20 groups of sound system and miscellaneous Mcs of various parts of Brasil." Contact was maintained via the internet with several Selectas and Mcs so that the essential issues for the success of the event could be discussed. The result of this was an event that respects not only musical choices, but also the comfort and convenience of those who appreciate them. In the city of São Carlos, the Ganja Groove group and friends are working hard to ensure that the event goes according to expectations. The party will feature visual projections by Vj Cosmo (São Carlos) and other invited Vjs. The CarnaReggae will also have a structure for camping, swimming pools and food (vegetarian and others).
