Mato Seco launches new CD "Seco mas não morto" at Expresso Brasil/SP in June! See on Surforeggae!

Art and poetry, because they are beautiful, do not always need to be impartial or passive... quite the opposite! They can and should be libertarian, reactionary and why not, revolutionary. Yes, art and poetry transform into revolution through music, like the cry of an oppressed people. "Seco mas não morto", the band's second album Mato Seco, portrays this very well. Art as a form of struggle, and conscience as a weapon for each person’s liberation. It is not just another album, but a cry for our people who suffer, who walk, who work, who resist the difficulties imposed in their daily lives. A cry, from the effort to establish strong roots for what has been done today and now, as well as the recovery of roots that were already founded a long time ago by other greats, and that must always be valued and respected, as this is our culture, our art, our history. The album, produced by Mato Seco and Rodrigo Loli on Tonelada Estúdio and São Paulo, features fourteen tracks, thirteen of which are original and a refined reissue of the illustrious poet Chico Buarque. The impeccable visual art work developed by Tiago Morya, Daniel Pinheiro and Renan Alves makes the clear artistic evolution that has accompanied the band since its creation in 2002 even more evident. Strengthening the same work that has already been done since his first album, Mato Seco (Resistência), but in a much more intense way, ‘’Seco Mas Não Morto’’ is a conceptual album that marks a new era, both for Mato Seco himself, and for Brazilian and world music. To celebrate this career milestone, the band will be going on tour through Brasil and other countries in América do Sul to perform the CD release show, which will be distributed nationally by Selo Surforeggae. The first show of the tour is already scheduled for June 5th at Expresso Brasil, at São Paulo, and the band is preparing a more than special repertoire. For the thousands of fans the band has gained over time, and also for new ones, it will undoubtedly be an unforgettable show.
