Fundição Brasil Jamaica brings Groundation and Ponto de Equilíbrio in a major show in RJ!

Always featuring a Brazilian band as host and heavyweight international acts, the Fundição Brasil Jamaica festival presents GROUNDATION and PONTO DE EQUILÍBRIO in its 8th edition. The event takes place on Friday, March 5, starting at 11pm. Marking ten years of authentic roots reggae, PONTO DE EQUILÍBRIO 'plays host', opening proceedings in Fundição's main arena. Formed in Rio de Janeiro's Vila Isabel neighborhood, the group is preparing for the release of its next album and uses the night to showcase two singles: "Música de Jah" and "O que eu vejo". Ponto de Equilíbrio is made up of musicians Hélio Bentes (vocals), Ras André (lead guitar), Marcio Sampaio (rhythm guitar), Pedrada (bass), Lucas Kastrup (drums) and Tiago Caetano (keyboards). Next on stage is the California band GROUNDATION, known for reggae spiced with jazz, r&b and soul. Songs like "Freedom Taking Over", "We Free Again", "Picture on the Wall" and more recent tracks such as "Here I Am" and "You can Profit" are part of the repertoire. On their released albums, GROUNDATION has featured musicians such as Don Carlos, Apple Gabriel, The Congos, Ijahman Levy, Pablo Moses and Ras Michael. GROUNDATION's most recent album, "Here I Am", was released in Brazil by the Surforeggae label. GROUNDATION is made up of musicians Harrison Stafford (vocals and guitar), Marcus Urani (keyboards and organ), Ryan Newman (bass), Rufus (drums), Kim Pommell (backing vocals), Kerry Ann Morgan (backing vocals), Kelsey Howard (trombone), David Chachere (trumpet) and Mingo (percussion). Before the shows, reggae specialist DJ ANDREAD handles the selections.
