The band Damata was born in 2002 in the neighborhood of Pirituba in São Paulo and since then has been gaining more and more space in the state's scene. With strong black music influences incorporated into the weight of Reggae, the band released their first CD in 2008, highlighting the song "Resistência", played on several radio stations across the country. Coming from changes in its formation, the group now launches the EP "Agora é o tempo", produced and mixed by Wagner "Bagão" Dias, a sound engineer who has worked with great national and international reggae artists. The new album is scheduled to be released by the end of 2011 and along with it its first music video, titled "Felicidade".
