Ras Bernardo discharged 10 days after being shot in an assassination attempt!

Singer Ras Bernardo, known for being the lead singer of the group Cidade Negra until 1994, was discharged from Nova Iguaçu General Hospital. The suspect was charged with illegal possession of a firearm and attempted murder by ambush. According to the police chief, Sérgio informally admitted to having shot his neighbor because of the disagreement. Still hospitalized and unable to speak, Bernardo identified, through gestures, Sérgio in a photo, as well as his family members.

Ras Bernardo was the lead singer of the group Cidade Negra in the 1980s and until 1994, when he was replaced by Toni Garrido. In eight years with the band, the singer participated in two albums, notably 'Lute Para Viver' (1991), a reggae album with politicized lyrics and the participation of Jamaican Jimmy Cliff.
