Buju Banton's lawyer demands a new trial after detecting irregularities committed by the jury!
More news in the Buju Banton case has happened in recent days. At the end of December, four people testified in favor of Banton on the grounds of irregularity and violation of American federal laws by one of the jurors, which would have violated the suspect's legal rights. Buju Banton is currently serving a 10-year sentence in the USA for illegal possession of a weapon and conspiracy to traffic cocaine. The irregularity would have been the proof through the recording of the trial that the juror used the internet during it to obtain information and research about the case, which violates American federal laws, as the trial must be based on evidence about the case. Initially, Buju Banton had been declared innocent, but the jury ended up serving the sentence. If the American Court considers the fact, the artist could go to trial once again.
("Innocent", track from the album that won Buju Banton the Grammy)
