Band Kwanza starts a season of shows at Rio Vermelho in Salvador!

After paying homage toBob Marleyin the pre-release of the CDInsistência, Persistência e Paciência, the bandKwanzabegins the"Classic Reggae"concert season, atDubliners Irish Pub(Rio Vermelho) inSalvador. The first edition of the event takes place this Sunday, 2nd, at 4pm, with the participation of the bandMoa AnbesaandDJ Fatia. Tickets cost R$10. On June 16th,Kwanzawelcomes the bandImundos(cover ofRaimundos) as a guest. The special edition promises to bring together countless fans of both musical styles, as the groups were responsible for the Pub's biggest box office sales in 2013.Emerging as one of the revelations of the local scene,Kwanzabrings to the Bahian stages a mix of original songs with influences from big names in national and global reggae, includingSteel Pulse,Groundation,Sebastian Sturm,Red Meditation,Edson GomesandNengo Vieira. The band – formed byAriel Jahlion(vocals),Ive Farias(backing),Nando Farias(bass),Caca(guitar),Bruno AlmeidaandMaurício Cunha(keyboards),Maurício Teixeira(guitar) andJordan Charles(drums) – had its name inspired by theKwanzaacelebration, designed to unite all African people spread across the planet and whose roots derive from ancient African harvest celebrations. Among the hits on the new CD are the songsIrmandade,Príncipe da PazandOração, as well as compositions in English, such asJah Shine,Mother NatureandJohn.“As músicas falam do ser humano, da sua relação com Deus e também sobre a política atual.
