The Voice effect! Tessanne Chin's popularity is renewed, boosting her hit, HIDEAWAY!
7 years ago, Jamaican Tessanne Chin caught national attention with her hit, "Hideaway". Co-produced by drummer Paul Kastick and guitarist Rudy Valentino, the song "reggae-rock" shook up the charts in Jamaica and some regional charts in the United States. She was also featured on a special reggae compilation by VP Records.

Chin is enjoying his renewed popularity due to his impressive performance on the famous talent show, The Voice (American edition). Of course his hit "Hideaway" benefited from this exposure. According to Nielsen Soundscan, the song has already sold more than 15,749 downloads, and four weeks ago it returned strong to the Billboard list of reggae singles. Last week, "Hideaway" had sold just 298 downloads, and 209 the week before. Still on The Voice, two weeks ago, Chin performed a cover of Jimmy Cliff's classic "Many Rivers to Cross". The interpretation sparked interest in the original version, directly reflecting on the Billboard singles list.

"Many Rivers to Cross" sold 707 downloads last week, nearly doubling the previous week's 408 downloads. Released in 1969 and produced by Leslie Kong, the song is on the soundtrack to the 1972 film, "The Harder They Come", also starring star Jimmy Cliff.
