Today, August 12th, will be a special moment for A Tropa. The group releases its first self-titled album in celebration of ten years on stage.
The band, which built its musicality on the basis of reggae, presents a more mature album with influences from Jamaican music, but also with electronic elements from dubstep, trap and ragga, as well as some guitars with a rock feel.
(Listen to the song "A Hora dos Dreadlocks")
PARTICIPATIONS
The fourteen tracks that make up the album were recorded last year, and feature the participation of Teco Martins on the song “Mantra”, and Mc Pedro Qualy from the group Haikaiss. Pedro sang and was also part of the composition of the sound “Humanos em Macacos” - music with a strong trap and dubstep influence. The lyrics focus on social, environmental and political issues and point the finger at human participation in the problems that affect them.COVER ART
To create the album cover, the group invited Thiago Hatto. The artist from São Paulo read the sounds and, through the artistic process of collage, told the story of the album. Each superimposed image tells a little about the theme of each song.TRACKLIST
