FEEL THE SOUND! Aline Duran presents her new work and reveals a collaboration with the late Bunny Rugs!
Aline Duran, singer and songwriter from São Paulo, has just released her newest work, entitled “Sente o som”. Recorded on Estúdio Baeta, the album contains nine tracks, seven of which were produced by herself together with Francys Silva, Rafael Labate and Edu Diux. The album also features a song produced by Ziggy Coltrane, where Aline performs a duet with the late Bunny Rugs (singer of the renowned band Third World), in addition to her well-known single “Sorrir pra mim”, produced by Alberto Vaz. On his new album, Aline Duran expanded his horizons beyond Jamaican rhythm, delving deeper into his other musical influences such as R&B and Soul, as well as a flirtation with Jazz. The result is a sound with a cohesive range of these styles.

I am in search of my own musical language and I greatly value freedom in the creative process to produce increasingly authentic work. I need to constantly reinvent myself and I let my music express these transformations.” - said Aline. The tracks move through moods ranging from the calm and cheerful “Numa boa” and reaching the unique "Mais que uma Canção", all with arrangements very well tied together.

THE DUET WITH BUNNY RUGS

Aline Duran had the honor of recording alongside Bunny Rugs, the voice of the legendary Third World. Unfortunately, Bunny passed away from cancer on 2 in February this year, making this recording with Aline one of his last official records. Called “I Believe in You”, the duet is a source of pride for the singer: It was an honor to be able to carry out this partnership, it is one of the greatest privileges I have ever had in my career. I fell in love with the song as soon as I heard it, and including it on the album was a way of paying homage to the great artist that Bunny Rugs was...”.

The track was produced in New York, written and arranged by Kwame Heshimu, and featured musicians such as Jonathan Fritz and Victor ‘Ticklah’ Axelrod, fundador das bandas “Easy Star All-Stars” e “Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra”.

FOOT ON THE ROAD

The new season of shows has a repertoire full of ska-jazz and neo soul, and a good reception from those who attend. Aline Duran and her band transmit an energy that makes the public identify with their songs, and according to the singer herself states: The show is the moment of greatest dedication, and the energy ends up being more intense due to the fact that there is this exchange with people. This is where the music becomes OURS.”
