Buju Banton may benefit de nova lei americana and be released! Check it out!

Mark Myrie, better known in the artistic world as Buju Banton, was arrested in 2009 accused of participating in an operation that trafficked 5kg of cocaine. At the time, he was reported by an undercover informant who stated that although he had not invested money in the plan nor intended to profit from it, the artist became involved.

In 2010 he was released to await trial on bail and in 2011 was found guilty and imprisoned again. The news is that Mark Myrie may benefit from a new American law that provides for reduced sentences for citizens who committed drug-related crimes but without aggravating factors linked to violence.

Next weekend, about 6,600 inmates will be released and by next year, up to 16,500. Although a weapon was seized in Buju's case, it was never used to commit any violent act under investigation, and the fact that he was coerced should also help his case.
