MC and producer active since the 1990s, with a notable stint in the groups Enganjaduz and Família 7 Velas as well as nominations for the Hutuz and VMB awards, Jimmy Luv is back with an EP dedicated to ragga and reggae. The EP, which even includes a reinterpretation of "Manguetown" by Chico Science e Nação Zumbi, is a release from the Original Dubatak Records label. Produced between 2014 and 2015, the musical direction is signed by Jimmy himself and the production by Wagner Bagão, who mixed and mastered the project. Jimmy made the beats and some recordings in his home studio, Sala do Rex, and the rest was recorded, mixed and mastered at the Audiofya studio. I tried to put elements and timbres from various reggae subgenres that I like into the songs, including rub-a-dub, ragga, dub, steppa and digital. The EP is a mix of different styles within the same musical genre. It's modern reggae, with one foot in the past and another in the future" - says Jimmy.
