After 4 years of waiting, The Abyssinians, one of the most legendary groups in the history of Jamaican Reggae, is back in Brazil. Formed in 1968, the vocal trio is led by Bernard Collins, Donald Manning and David Morrison. In 1971 they released one of the first anthems of Jamaican roots reggae, "Satta Massagana", which in Ethiopian language means "We Give Thanks". Over their 49-year career they consolidated their standing through various other classics such as "Declaration Of Rights", "Know Jah Today", "Abendigo", "African Race" and "This Land is For Everyone" (to name just a few). Firm and strong, these legends arrive in Brazil for their third tour, this time with four dates already confirmed in northeastern capitals and one in São Paulo. In Brazil, they are accompanied by musicians from Leões de Israel who have already performed with other greats such as Gregory Isaacs, Clinton Fearon, Eek-a-Mouse and Marcia Griffiths. Musical direction is by Aubrey "Prince" Manning, drummer and son of founder Donald Manning, who besides The Abyssinians is also drummer for Bunny Wailer.
