On June 29, in partnership with the Surforeggae / Soundsystem Brazil label, the band JAH I RAS released its newest album on digital platforms, six years after the release of the album "Jah Providenciará" (Tuff Gong).
This is the impeccable album "JAHGUBE", a work that goes beyond the limits of Rastafari Culture and synthesizes elements of ancestral and tribal Afro-Indigenous entheogenic culture from the Brazilian Amazon rainforest, such as the "Jagube" vine (or Banisteriopsis caapi), which gave the album its name, renamed as "JahGube".
The cover features an Ethiopian Coptic illustration of a Rasta preparing the tea, in a beautiful artwork by Felipe Borges (3Vision) and a photo of Jagube — which adorns the album — by Gabriel Mourão.

Without ever losing its characteristics or its roots, Ras Kadhu — vocalist and songwriter of the band — coordinated the team of musicians in recording sessions that lasted three years. Besides Kadhu, the sound achieved is due to the talent and competence of Rafael Paz from Unidade 76 (mixing and mastering) and Gustah from EchoSound in production.

DOWN TO THE DETAIL
The album carries clear references to the sound of British reggae from the 1970s and 1980s, driven by a heavyweight lineup. Rafael Cassino and Beto Malfatti (Nômade Orquestra) invoke classic horn themes, as on the beautiful "Longo Tempo", and Magno Santos shines on keyboards and effects, in meticulous work selecting timbres, seeking everything from traditional clavinets to the most modern synthesizers, resulting in the most interesting textures.HEAVYWEIGHT COLLABORATIONS
JAHGUBE featured partnerships with major names on the national reggae scene, such as Rodrigo Piccolo — vocalist of Mato Seco — on the track "Sol da Manhã", Eric Oliveira and Carlos Eduardo (both members of Mato Seco), "One Glory" with Dada Yute, "Inverta seus Valores" with Junior Dread and "Jah é Amor" with Adonai from Cidade Verde Sounds. Also on the track "A Múzika é um Sinal", Lucas Kastrup from Ponto de Equilíbrio handles percussion and the group TremaTerra delivers on flutes. "JAHGUBE" is a true breath of inspiration when it comes to expectations for the quality of national reggae productions, track by track, unhurried and unmissable. The #Jahgube2018tour release schedule remains strong for Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Mexico and various states across Brazil — stay tuned!
