Jamaican Cyrenius Green, better known in the world of Reggae as Siddy Ranks, unfortunately left us on September 17th, a victim of COVID-19. People close to him reported that he had been hospitalized for several days, until complications from the disease took his life.
The artist's work became very popular in some parts of Brazil, more precisely in Maranhão and Bahia, and also in Sierra Leone, Africa. Siddy lived in London for many years and had songs such as "Cheer Up", "Never too Late" and "Rock On" among her main hits.

His vocal timbre was very similar to that of Gregory Isaacs and came to impress other Jamaicans who did not yet know him, such as the legendary bassist Errol "Flabba" Holt, producer of Gregory's album "Night Nurse".
Siddy Ranks was born on October 24, 1959 in Kingston and began her career singing in church, like many other artists in her country.
He had an extremely calm personality, very easy to get along with, I never saw him irritated or nervous, always happy with life", reported Rafael Costa, member of Surforeggae and producer who was one of the organizers of their shows in Brazil between 2012 and the last one, in 2016. Rest in peace!
Check out this and other legends that have already left us, in the special section "In Memoriam".
