More surprises from the Marley family. "A Time & Place" in the square!

When we thought we had already heard of every member of the Marley family, we are surprised by the release from Julian Marley. It is music not as political and sarcastic as Bob's, but Julian's musical style is not far from his famous father. With major contributions from Ziggy Marley, Bunny Wailer and other Marleys, "A Time & Place" is a great album that would make his father proud. A Time & Place is an organic fusion of roots reggae with jazz touches and represents the current stage of Julian's artistic career — a very personal album that reflects his strong growth.
Each song was built on solid foundations of traditional reggae but contains a wide variety of influences, demonstrating a natural love for music. Julian wrote all the lyrics on the album's 13 tracks, as well as playing guitar and keyboards on most of the songs, with surprising arrangements. Marley believes his work on major projects like Chant Down Babylon; Halfwaytree (Grammy winner for best reggae album in 2002) and The Miseducation of Lauren Hill greatly influenced his maturing.
After seven years touring with Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers, with the Ghetto Youths Crew and with his brother Damian "Junior Gong" Marley, a legion of fans spread across every part of the world emerged. Now, with the release of his second solo album, Julian will tour on his own, accompanied by his band Uprising Band. Julian's time has come. And this is his place.
