Mato Seco's album "Seco e Ainda Vivo" won best reggae album of the year at the Dynamite Independent Music Award. The award is already 10 years old and is distributed across 22 categories. Among the competitors were groups from all over the country such as Diamba (BA), Faculdade Mental (CE), Marauê (SP) and Maskavo (DF).
Mato Seco is heartily grateful for the Dynamite Independent Music Award 2013, in the best National Reggae album category. Not for the prize itself in the form of competition or dispute, as we are sure that under no circumstances should art be that, but rather for the recognition of work done with a lot of heart, with a lot of commitment and great intentions. Especially with a lot of sweat.
Contrary to what many believe, nothing comes easy or for free... It is with many sacrifices that we resist the battles and continue moving forward. There were great albums being nominated too, great bands and we were extremely honored to be able to represent Reggae at that moment. We hope everyone feels well represented, we are doing our best!
Thank you to Pomba and everyone involved in organizing the Dynamite Award so many years ago, Clemente... Everyone! This award goes to everyone who is part of this fight... everyone who is Família Mato Seco! Our families, our team (Bato, Vicente, Det, Gusman, Dú, Dmenor, Tuca and Wesley, our metalhead (Andre Mitsuoka, Luizinho Nascimento and Gabriel Arraes), you who follow us wherever we go, Israel Mizrach, Rafael Costa, Rodrigo Loli, Lion & Fox Studio, Nazireu Rupestre, Oswaldinho Do Acordeon, Harrison Stafford, Marcus Urani, Max Romeo, Tiago Ishiyama, Renan Alves and in particular for Richard Meyer and Errol "Flabba" Holt, the two main architects of this great work! Without you it would have been impossible for us to get here!!! Thank you very much!!!
